The Girls Basketball postseason tips off this week as the Wildcats begin their quest for a state tournament berth. On Monday, KHS hosts a CIL Semifinal matchup against Orofino with everything on the line.
On Wednesday, the stakes get even higher. The winner will either host Priest River or travel to Grangeville for the CIL Championship and the league’s first ticket to State. The loser of Monday’s game will also stay in the hunt, either hosting Priest River or heading to Grangeville, depending on the other semifinal outcome.
Then on Friday, the highest remaining seed will host the True Second game, where the CIL’s final State berth will be decided.
Got all that? Let’s keep it simple: Survive and advance.
Meanwhile, boys basketball has two big games this week, starting with a revenge matchup against Bonners Ferry on Tuesday, followed by a crucial CIL showdown with St. Maries on Thursday. Thursday night also marks Senior Night for boys basketball, cheerleading, and band—a night you won’t want to miss.
And finally, Wrestling wraps up the regular season as they head to Coeur d’Alene for the Lake City JV & Girls Tournament.
It’s a huge week for Wildcat athletics...GO WILDCATS!

KHS is hosting a dress-up week for Valentine's Day! Monday, grab a friend and dress up as an iconic pop culture duo. Tuesday, wear some hears and Wednesday, wear fun or mismatched socks! On Thursday, wear red, pink, or white! If you dress up, please see Mrs. Yrjana for a piece of candy!

Thank you to our students and staff for showing up, staying engaged, and making every day count. Consistent attendance builds strong habits, supports learning, and helps our schools stay connected and thriving. We appreciate the effort it takes—especially on busy weeks—and we’re grateful for the commitment our school community shows each day. 💙📚#everydaycounts

Every day in school matters. When students are present consistently, they build stronger learning habits, stay connected to their teachers and peers, and are better set up for academic success.
We know mornings can be busy and schedules can be full, but showing up—even on the hard days—adds up in powerful ways. Thank you to our students, families, and staff for continuing to make attendance a priority and helping our students stay on track. Let’s keep the momentum going! 📚#everydaycounts
